今週はボーナスの支払い方について書いていきたいと思います。

Q マレーシアで賞与を支払う場合、どのくらいの金額をどのタイミングで支払うのが一般的ですか。
In general, how much bonus may I pay to employee? and When is the best to pay in Malaysia?
A マレーシアは、マレー系、中華系、インド系の人たちが同時に生活をしており、彼らにとって大事な休日などに配慮をしていくことが重要です。特段何ヶ月分の賞与を支払いなさいというものはないものの、多くの企業が大体２ヶ月分を賞与として払っているのが一般的であるかと思います。その理由は、イスラム教のマレー人にとっての大きなイベントラマダン（６月辺り）。そして中華系マレーシア人にとって重要な休日である旧正月（２月辺り）を配慮して賞与を支給するからです。すなわち、６月〜７月、１２月〜１月辺りでボーナスを支給します。年２回、それぞれ一ヶ月分を支払う形がここマレーシアでは一般的な形となります。
A There are 3 racial in Malaysia, Malay, Chinese and India. So you shall consider their each big festival in Malaysia. There is no specific law about the Payment of Bonus in Malaysia, but many company pay 2 months salary as bonus. The reason why is that Islamic festival is in about the end of June and Chinese festival is in about February. So many company pay the bonus at June and January. Many company pay bonus 2 times and one month of salary as bonus at each payment.
