In this week, I would like to share the information regarding “Wage Comparison with Neighboring Countries”.
In Turkey, it is certain there is a huge wage gap between the middle-manager class and worker class since the one’s academic background, language skills, and ‘backroom influence’ strongly affect the wage amount. It is no exaggeration to say that middle-managers’ wage is almost as expensive as the amount in EU countries. In the meantime, wage amount for worker class tends to be kept lower compared to European developed countries, which is one of the reasons for foreign capital enterprises to expand their business to Turkey.
On the other hand, there is also an intriguing adverse effect in the labour market that the increase in the number of universities and improvement in educational standards are making it more difficult to secure the sufficient number of working-class employees(operators at a factory) especially in OIZ(Organized Industrial Zones) according to the stories of some business people.
