This week I would like to share the information regarding “Health Insurance for Ikamet Application”.
According to the required documents list mentioned in the official website of Directorate General of Migration Management, people with foreign nationalities that seek to get a residence permit are required to have a valid health insurance which covers the full length of their stay in Turkey. Those who going for an interview for a residence permit need to bring the original of the valid health insurance policy. Basically, the applicant has to have a valid health insurance in Turkey regardless of whether he/she already has another health insurance in abroad (outside of Turkey).
* As of this particular point in time (August, 2020), please be informed that it is possible an application process for Ikamet will change from an interview form into the mailing of required documents to the designated Directorate General of Migration Management owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will differ case by case according to the time of application and place of residence.
