In this week, I would like to explain about “Effectivity of Capacity Report in Company Credibility Check”.

 

When a company tries to expand its business in abroad, finding a reliable partner will be one of the most important keys to let the business be successful for a long period regardless of country and industry. Here in Turkey likewise, plenty of international companies are engaging in their business activities while partnering with Turkish local companies, especially in the manufacturing sector. In most cases, it is difficult for a single manufacturing company to complete the whole production process related to its manufactured goods. As a result, they need trustworthy suppliers to make up for deficiencies and facilitate the production procedure.

 

Well then, on what kind of criteria should a company judge its supplier’s credibility?

 

One of the answers to this question will be the “Capacity Report”. Capacity Report is a document stating the overall information on the supplier’s production capacity such as contact information, details of raw materials, possessing machines and equipment, and annual production capacity. Validity of Capacity Report is for 2 years and will need to be updated every time. It will be one of the judgmental standards with regard to the supplier’s credibility since the supplier has to be the member of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB: Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği) and registered to the Turkish Trade Registry. It is possible for a company to demand the Capacity Report prior to the execution of supplier agreement.

 

Of course, an additional background check by outsourcers such as research companies and lawyers from the viewpoint of financial and legal aspects will also be preferred to be performed depending on the case, though, it is certain that the document will be a reference to verify supplier’s credibility regarding production capacity.
