I shared some key points about \u201cProject-based Business Development in Turkey\u201d for the past two weeks. This week I would like to deliver the information regarding \u201cSalary Income Tax\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Turkey, salary income taxes are imposed both on residents and non-residents. As a difference between those, whilst residents are taxed on their worldwide income, non-residents are taxed on earnings arising from Turkish-source only. Salary income tax will be levied on one\u2019s taxable income at progressive rates after several deductions and additions of allowances.<\/span><\/p>\n

As mentioned, residents\u2019 salary income tax will be calculated based on their worldwide income. Therefore, those who have another salary income in other countries such as foreign expatriates need to exchange the amount into TRY and declare the amount to the Turkish tax authority within the declaration period.<\/span><\/p>\n
